Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
The short version: Beat the Charges is a free browser game. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no ads. We don't set tracking cookies, and we only see anonymous, combined visitor numbers.
Who runs this site
Beat the Charges (beatthecharges.co.uk) is run by an independent creator based in the UK. For anything about this policy or your data, email info@beatthecharges.co.uk.
What information is collected
Anonymous visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see things like how many people visit, which pages they view, roughly which country they're in, and how quickly the site loads. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you as an individual, either on this site or across others. We only ever see combined totals.
Technical data needed to run the site. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages to you and protect the site from attacks and abuse. We don't use this to identify you.
Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to read and reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
We don't ask for your name, we don't run accounts, and we don't sell or share personal information with anyone for marketing.
Cookies
We don't set any cookies for tracking or advertising. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors apart from bots. That's needed to keep the site working and doesn't require your consent.
If we add advertising or other features in future that need non-essential cookies, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR), you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it's used. In practice, the only personal information we're likely to have is an email you've sent us. To make a request, email info@beatthecharges.co.uk.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
How long we keep information
Anonymous analytics are kept by Cloudflare in line with its own retention periods. Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your message, then deleted.
Children
Beat the Charges is a general-audience game and isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Third-party services
The site is hosted and its visitor statistics are measured by Cloudflare, which has its own privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if anything changes, and show the new date at the top.
